Edgewater Strategies: Paving the Way for Safe Drinking Water in Tamworth

At Edgewater Strategies, we are proud to be part of the solution for communities in need of safe drinking water. Our latest project in Tamworth focuses on new well exploration aimed at developing a reliable groundwater source to replace an aging dug well. This initiative is vital for protecting public health and ensuring that residents have access to clean water.

The Need for Change

The current water system in Tamworth relies on a 12-foot wide, 22-foot deep dug well constructed back in the 1930s. While this well has historically provided an ample water supply, its design leaves it susceptible to bacterial contamination, posing risks to the health of the small community of just 16 homes. Our project aims to address this issue by exploring the possibility of a new gravel well or reconstructing the dug well, ensuring a consistent and safe source of drinking water for current and future homeowners.

Why This Matters

Safe drinking water is a cornerstone of public health. By replacing the old well with a new groundwater source, we can significantly reduce the risk of contamination and improve the overall quality of life for residents. Access to safe water not only supports health but also enhances community growth and stability.

Collaboration for Success

We’re thrilled to collaborate with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES) overseeing funding this essential project. Their support, made possible through a federal WIIN grant, is crucial in advancing our efforts to bring safe drinking water to the community.

As the lead hydrologist and project manager, Edgewater Strategies is dedicated to overseeing the new well exploration process, conducting borings to assess the feasibility of a gravel well on the property. Our expertise in hydrology and water system management allows us to ensure that the new well meets all regulatory standards while prioritizing the needs of the community.

Looking Ahead

At Edgewater Strategies, we believe that access to safe drinking water is not just a necessity but a fundamental right. Our commitment to exploring new groundwater sources in Tamworth exemplifies our mission to protect public health and support sustainable community development.

As we move forward with this project, we look forward to updating you on our progress and celebrating the positive impact we hope to achieve for the residents of Tamworth.
