Monadnock Tenants Coop Progress - Ringe NH: Main Line Installation and Backfilling on Oak Drive
Date: August 20, 2025
Location: Oak Drive, Monadnock Tenants Cooperative, Rindge, NH
Inspected by: Miles Keefe, Resident Project Representative (RPR)
Weather: Sunny, 75°F
It was a picture-perfect day for moving the project forward in Rindge, and our team made the most of it. With clear skies and warm temps, the contractors got right to work on the main line excavation and installation along Oak Drive. Edgewater has been the RPR on this project since early summer. Goal of the project is to replace all drinking water distribution and service lines.
On-Site Activity Highlights
Digging In:
The day’s primary focus was trenching for the main line. Using an excavator, loader, and dump truck, the contractor, CPM, made steady progress, cutting through the earth and preparing the path for new infrastructure.
Backfilling in Motion:
A cross-country section between Maple and Oak has now been fully backfilled—viewed and confirmed from the end of Maple Street. On Oak Drive, crews backfilled sections of the main line trench as the work progressed, ensuring the site remained organized and safe. Pressure testing these lines will occur soon.
Equipment at Work:
The contractors are well coordinated between the excavator, loader, and dump truck to keep the operation running smoothly. It’s always impressive to see how efficiently these teams work together and maintaining precision around utilities and property boundaries.
How Edgewater Made a Difference
At Edgewater Strategies, our role goes far beyond simply “checking in” on a project. On the Monadnock Tenants Coop job, we were there to make sure every step met the highest standards—from excavation depth to backfill compaction—so the finished system will perform reliably for years to come.
Our Resident Project Representative, Miles Keefe, was on-site to monitor progress, verify that the work matched the project plans, and ensure that safety protocols were followed. By catching small issues before they became big ones, we helped keep the timeline on track and avoided costly rework.
We also acted as a bridge between the contractor, the co-op, and the engineering team, making sure everyone had clear updates and accurate information. That means residents can feel confident the investment being made in their community is being done right—both above and below the ground.
In short, Edgewater’s presence kept the project moving smoothly, safely, and with the quality craftsmanship the co-op deserves.
Why This Matters
Main line installation is one of those “behind the scenes” improvements that you don’t always notice—until you realize how essential it is. By upgrading and expanding these underground systems, we’re laying the foundation for better service reliability and capacity for the co-op’s residents. Every section completed is one step closer to a stronger, more resilient community infrastructure.
Looking Ahead
With the Oak Drive trench work well underway and backfilling progressing in multiple areas, we’re on track for the next phases of installation. As always, safety, quality, and efficiency remain our top priorities.
Stay tuned for the next update—there’s plenty more progress to come!
